Collaboratively wrote two successful mini-grant applications to the CNY Teaching Center, resulting in funding to provide manipulatives for an occupational therapy 'Handy Learning - The Write Stuff" lending library and supplies for a "Handwriting Without Tears" program.
Daina has worked in the field of occupational therapy for the past 36 years. Having some experience in psychiatry and physical disabilities (acute care, long term health, cardiology and hand therapy), Daina’s long time experience of 30.5 years has been in the fields of pediatrics and developmental disabilities, with 29.5 of those years dedicated to the North Syracuse Central School District. Since October 2017, she has provided direct therapy to children as an itinerant therapist with Hear 2 Learn.
Daina is originally from the Adirondack Mountains and graduated from the Northville Central School District; however, has since lived in Central New York over the last thirty years. She lives with her husband, Darrell, and their adopted son, Terry.
Her hobbies include camping, gardening, canning produce, various crafts and walking. She is very active with her church and extended family.
